"Yesterday we started the day with the Rotary Club of New Delhi and visited a few of the booths they were supporting. We got the chance to give the Polio drops to quite a few of the children that appeared, as well as mark their pinkies with the purple dye and give out our gifts. In Delhi there are around 7,900 booths which can immunise up to 3000 children each - and that's just Delhi! "

About this Website

The district website exists to promote Rotary and the work that we do to a wider audience as well as to serve the Rotarians of the district. Rotary International is a service organisation of 1.2 million members who want to improve the lives of people throughout the world.

Eradication of polio is Rotary's number one priority - and we're almost there. But we also promote world peace, alleviate hunger, reduce poverty and child mortality. Grand aims you may say, but with 1.2 million members, a seat at the United Nations and a truly apolitical and non-religious approach to all that we do, we can talk to the world's governments and be trusted, respected and encouraged.

"One thing is for certain. The world would not be where it is without Rotary, and it won't get where it needs to go without Rotary." Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, January 2009
