Rotary District 1020 Conference
RI District 1020 Conference Inverness
24th - 26th October
Latest Update
Hotels are filling up fast, if you haven't yet registered, please do so ASAP.
Welcome to the homepage of the RI District 1020 Conference.
We want to use this website to provide information for those members who have already decided to attend the 2008 Conference in Inverness, and (hopefully) inspiration to those members who have not yet made up their minds.
You can use the links on the left to get more details, and the pages will be updated regularly.
We are VERY KEEN to see as many 1020 Rotarians at the Conference as possible; especially those who perhaps have not managed to attend before, and for EVERYONE to have an enjoyable and stimulating weekend.
The theme for the Conference is '...JUST SAY 'YES' ...and that's what we hope many of you will do when deciding whether to come.
Fiona and I look forward to seeing you all in Inverness.
Alasdair Seale
District Governor Elect
Inverness
Inverness, capital of the Highlands, Scotland's newest and fastest growing city, is no stranger to Rotary Conferences. District 1020 was there 10 years ago in 1998, and 20 years ago in 1988. So they're expecting us back in 2008!!
And we think it's going to be a great location, for what's going to be a great conference.
The Conference itself will take place in the newly refurbished Eden Court Centre, a superb venue located right in the heart of the city. We've managed to get a wide selection of hotels available at reasonable rates. And in addition, Inverness offers a huge range of shopping, leisure and cultural activities to keep you amused outwith the Conference itself.
Add to that the fact that it's very easy to get to by road, rail or air, and the close availability of superb Highland scenery and heritage, and you have the perfect setting for our Conference.

However, don't worry; we still have rooms available - there are plenty at The Columba, Waterside, Maple Court, Dunain and Old North Inn.
So, get your details in to Calum Thomson as fast as you can. Feel free to contact him if you have any queries; he will do his very best to help you with your club requirements. His email address is c.thomson@longniddryrotary.org
We've tried to get as wide a range of hotels as possible, with a clear price differential between 3* and 4*.
Rates shown below are per person per night for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast.

As ever, clubs will be allocated to hotels on a first-come, first-served basis so early booking is strongly recommended.
Registration
A registration fee is required from all people attending the Conference in order to pay for the costs of running it, and this year's charge is £45.00 per person.
However, for the first time we are offering FIRST TIME CONFERENCE ATTENDEES a special discount on their Registration Fee. They will get 50% off, making a charge for them of only £22.50.
So, if you haven't attended before, this is your chance to try it out at a very special rate!!
Each club will receive a Registration Form and we strongly recommend you return it as soon as possible. When the form is returned, we will allocate your club a hotel. Hotels will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you really want a specific hotel, get your Registration Form in as soon as possible.
Remember - ...JUST SAY 'YES'!!
